Giving

The Bible says that 'the Lord loves a cheerful giver' (2 Cor 9:7) and at St George's there is so much we can give cheerfully towards. We are the glue of the community, the place where all ages and backgrounds can meet. We are a group of Christian friends, who are always looking to include others. Our building, with its pretty riverside setting is hugely appreciated and used by many as the setting for their life events. We look outwards to support our school, the poor and the marginalised. And at the heart of our church is a desire to worship God and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to all our friends and neighbours.

This exciting mission costs about £70,000 per year and we're grateful for all your support.

If you would like to give to St George's, the most tax efficient way  is to give with Gift Aid either by standing order or via the Parish Giving Scheme (please ask a Churchwarden for a form). Regular giving helps us to plan and a taxpayer who signs a gift aid declaration adds 25p to every £1 they give, at no cost to them. You can find the gift aid declaration including our bank details here.  If you wish to make a donation by cheque, please make it payable to 'Preshute Church Finance Committee'.  Gift aid is claimable if you can complete one of the yellow envelopes (available on pews in the church) with the gift.

Another great blessing to the church can be the receipt of legacies. They often help us to take a leap forward in our mission. Please consider remembering St George's in your will.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to be in touch with Revd Pete Sainsbury or our treasurer Alastair Barr .
