Sundays

We welcome children and young people at all our services. During some of them we offer special groups outside of the main service. And roughly every other month we have a special 'Messy Church'.

Please contact Caroline Philps on 07593 267519 or Chris Smith if you have any questions.

Creche
This is staffed and meets for preschoolers every Sunday during our 10am Parish Communion services in the Tower Room - a room from which services can be seen and heard. During All Age services the room is open but not staffed. We also have a carpeted quiet play area in the main church which is available for children.

'Comets' and 'Stars'
These exciting groups meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month with the children leaving for the church hall in the first hymn. They return just before the end of the service It's great fun, why not give it a try or bring a friend? Stars is aimed at 4-7s and Comets is for 8-11s.

Youth Group
On the first Sunday of the month there is an explosion of activity in the Methodist Hall as our young people (secondary age) meet together for games, food, fun and spiritual nourishment. At least a dozen children regularly come - where else will you get to play 'round-the-table' with the Rector? Recently we have been looking at some of the challenging questions we face as Christians such as 'Why does a God of love allow suffering?' The door to the Hall is on Oxford Street.

Messy Church
If you think church is boring think again! At a Messy Church service there are crafts, games, construction, refreshments, singing and a short talk - all on a particular theme.

Our Advent Messy Church took place in St Mary's on the afternoon of Sunday 24th November 2019, a packed session with lots of fun for the children, parents and helpers as the photographs below show.
