Funerals and Covid-19 updates from the Church of England can be found here

Funerals and memorial services can be conducted at our churches. Please contact one of our clergy or our Team administrator who can assist you.

Holding a service for a loved one in a beautiful church gives space to thank God for a life that will be much missed. Vicars are experienced in helping families through these difficult days - we are here to help you.

Some practical points:

Church Capacity
St Mary's can comfortably accommodate 300 people with the possibility of an overflow auditorium in the adjacent Church Hall.
St George's and St John the Baptist are smaller and can each accommodate around 100 people.

Music
We have a team of experienced organists available to play at the service. Also we have the facilities to play recorded music prior to and during a Funeral service. CD is the suggested format.

Fees
Church funeral fees are the in the region £250 to £300.

Prayer
We are able to offer prayer support, via a prayer box, located just inside the inner door of St Mary's or via our Clergy or Lay Pastoral Assistants or Prayer Support Team. Just let us know how we can help.

Crematoria
A vicar will happily take a service for you at a Crematorium. If you live in Marlborough please consider a Church service with a lychgate committal. Saying the committal prayers at the church means it isn't necessary to pray at the crematorium as well. As a family you can proceed straight to the wake after the church service.
