A Brush With Faith

Methodist Collection of
Modern Christian Art

23 September - 14 October 2007
St. Mary's Church Marlborough

One of the remarkable treasures of the Methodist Church is its collection of Modern Christian Art. There are 42 works by artists of international renown including Eric Gill, Graham Sutherland, Elisabeth Frink, Eularia Clarke and others.

The Collection focuses on episodes in the life of Christ, especially the events surrounding his crucifixion, and is an opportunity to learn more about the richness of Christian spirituality as well as seeing how the Christian faith engages with the concerns, questions and longings of contemporary society.

We are very fortunate that the Collection, which has toured Cathedrals at home and abroad, is coming to Marlborough for three weeks from September 23rd to October 14th 2007.
